I am not DWIGHT

Hey, The Office fans, Rainn Wilson would love it if you stopped asking him which bear is best when he goes to Starbucks.

In this exclusive clip from an upcoming episode of Crooked Media’s Lovett or Leave It podcast, the actor goes on a rant about how he is not Dwight Schrute, the character he played on The Office for nine seasons. During a live taping in Los Angeles, podcast host Jon Lovett asked Wilson to spin the rant wheel, which featured several different topics Wilson could rant about, and the spinner landed on “I’m not Dwight Schrute.” The result? This glorious minute-long speech.

“I am not Dwight Schrute, okay?” Wilson began. “I played a character for 200 episodes, and it was an awesome character, and he was a beet farmer. That doesn’t mean you should hand me beets or make beet jokes every time I go into Starbucks and ask if they have like a beet latte or something like that.”

Wilson, who visited the podcast to discuss politics, seamlessly transitioned from ranting about Dwight to talking about his nonprofit Lidè Haiti, which is “an educational initiative that uses the arts and literacy to build resiliency and empower at-risk adolescent girls in rural Haiti,” according to the organization’s site.

“Don’t hand me reams of paper, and don’t say ‘fact’ to me, and don’t ask me which is bear is best because I am a human being of service to the women and girls of Haiti and to others in this planet, and I am not a beet farmer. So, f— you,” he says emphatically.

He concludes, “And thank you for watching the Emmy-winning show The Office.”

Watch the hilarious clip above. The entire Lovett or Leave It episode with Wilson begins streaming Saturday.

  • I mean yeah people should calm down when they see Rainn. But then again you kinda sign up for fans going crazy like that when you act in a show that could take off in fame; which The Office clearly did. And especially with him playing as such an outlandishly weird person.
